Man! I need to FOCUS!

Just a rant on the negative aspects of my usual disorganized mode of existence…

Man!  I wanted to do a whole lot of writing today!  But I didn’t, and it was pretty lame.  I did get 750 words in on The Lost Colony, and I got some good ideas for The Wormhole Paradigm, which I’m working on for English 318, but man!  I could have done so much more if I’d made better use of my time.

I was actually doing pretty well until I came back to the house.  I did a whole lot of Arabic homework in the library and came down to the house around 9:30 to get some food and do my Poli Sci homework.  Then I just started hanging out with the people who were in my apartment, that was fun but distracting, then got into an argument/discussion with my roommate about some drama that’s been going on (man, my Arab roommate can really be a pain in the a__), then just got distracted on other stuff and didn’t finish my homework until 1:00…then FINALLY got down and wrote something!

Man, how much more could I have done if I hadn’t allowed myself to get distracted?  When I was at the library, I was on a roll, but that stopped as soon as I came back to the house.  It makes me think that from now on, I need to set aside time to do my homework and do it in the library before coming back to the apartment!

So, other than that, today was pretty good (and I actually did get more writing done than I was expecting).  I may be getting a job helping out with layout and design for an Arabic project, we’ll see how it goes.  Just learned about it today in class, and Dil said he’d put my name in.  I could really use some money about now, and these guys are willing to hire now even though we’re going to be gone all summer.

Good luck to Andy and Daniel Lemmon, who are looking to move in to a house!  I hope that everything goes well for them and their baby daughter, Rachel!
