German engineers assemble and drive a WW2-era Jeep in under 4 minutes

We need a new family car, and this is closer to the kind that I want than all of the stuff on the market today. Too many extraneous chips, computers, and sensors, any one of which will cost you $$$$ when it inevitably fails. Just give me something that gets us safely from point A to point B, C, & D, reliably, with a minimum of fuss. Extra points if it’s simple enough that I can usually fix it myself.
