So today I said goodbye to my village and moved out to Tbilisi, where I’ll be spending the next week. \u00a0It was emotional. \u00a0My host mom cried. \u00a0It was raining, too, which pretty much reflected the way I felt. \u00a0Goodbyes are tough when you’re going halfway around the world.<\/p>\n
The last few days have kind of been like a slow-motion whirlwind, a sort of in-between state where I’m not really rooted where I am, but I’m unable to go anywhere else. \u00a0Unfortunately, due to some poor planning on my part, I don’t fly back to the States until the 31st, so things are probably going to continue like that for a while.<\/p>\n
Well, there are worse places to be stranded over Christmas than Tbilisi. \u00a0There’s still a lot in this part of the country that I haven’t seen, not to mention the city itself. \u00a0For about $9 a night, I’ve got a roof over my head and a comfortable bed to sleep in, as well as regular internet. \u00a0Also, with all that free time, I should be able to get a lot more writing done.<\/p>\n
