{"id":7449,"date":"2012-06-24T14:47:27","date_gmt":"2012-06-24T19:47:27","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onelowerlight.com\/writing\/?p=7449"},"modified":"2012-06-24T14:47:27","modified_gmt":"2012-06-24T19:47:27","slug":"still-traveling","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onelowerlight.com\/writing\/still-traveling\/","title":{"rendered":"Still traveling"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>So I think I&#8217;ve clocked in about 1,000 kilometers this past week, mostly between Kutaisi and Tbilisi. \u00a0Seen some interesting things, met a lot of interesting people, made some good memories, and thought a lot of deep and poignant thoughts.<\/p>\n<p>Unfortunately, all this travel isn&#8217;t conducive to blogging. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got five days before I fly back to the States, and updates are probably going to be sparse until then. \u00a0If you were wondering what happened to the Trope Tuesday posts, don&#8217;t worry, I plan to get back to them (and hopefully pulling in some guest bloggers) after this week.<\/p>\n<p>Tomorrow, I&#8217;ll head out to Racha, one of the more remote areas in Georgia. \u00a0It should be interesting. \u00a0Here&#8217;s a video with some photos of the region (and traditional music):<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"http:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/i0tHxQKnxwA\" frameborder=\"0\" width=\"480\" height=\"360\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>I have no idea what we&#8217;ll find there, but it&#8217;s definitely going to be an adventure.<\/p>\n<p>As far as the writing goes, I&#8217;ll probably finish\u00a0<strong>Star Wanderers<\/strong> somewhere between here and New York City, and publish part I in July after I&#8217;m a little more settled. \u00a0Didn&#8217;t finish it this weekend, but I&#8217;m only two scenes and an epilogue from the end, so if all else fails I&#8217;ll just finish it on the airplane.<\/p>\n<p>As for the next project&#8230;you know, I&#8217;m not even going to try and look that far ahead. \u00a0I&#8217;ve got plenty of ideas tugging on my brain and I&#8217;m sure the next story will more or less write itself, so long as I don&#8217;t get in the way. \u00a0Instead, I&#8217;ll leave you with this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.onelowerlight.com\/writing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_3445-e1340566157121.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter  wp-image-7450\" title=\"IMG_3445\" src=\"https:\/\/www.onelowerlight.com\/writing\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/06\/IMG_3445-e1340566157121.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"360\" height=\"481\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s an interesting piece of Soviet-era art on the side of a factory in Zestaponi. \u00a0When I come back in September, I&#8217;ll have to do a post on all the crazy-cool Soviet-era stuff that&#8217;s still around. \u00a0The USA wasn&#8217;t the only country that made it into space&#8211;or even really the first!<\/p>\n<p>See you on the other side!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>So I think I&#8217;ve clocked in about 1,000 kilometers this past week, mostly between Kutaisi and Tbilisi. \u00a0Seen some interesting things, met a lot of interesting people, made some good memories, and thought a lot of deep and poignant thoughts.
