Ok, here’s another crazy story idea.<\/p>\n
When I was really young, I used to hang upside down off the edge of the bed and look up at the ceiling, trying to imagine what it would be like if the ceiling were the floor and the floor were the ceiling.\u00a0 You should try it sometime–it really changes the landscape of your house.\u00a0 I think there was a Calvin and Hobbes comic strip on this same concept, too.<\/p>\n
So, here’s the idea.\u00a0 It’s a little wacky, but here goes.\u00a0 What if everyone, all over the world, suddenly fell UP instead of falling DOWN?\u00a0 Not objects, or animals, or anything else–just people.<\/p>\n
Imagine where you are sitting right now.\u00a0 Look up.\u00a0 What would it be like if all of a sudden you fell down–or, rather, up?\u00a0 Would it hurt?\u00a0 How much?\u00a0 Would you die?\u00a0 Would you be able to grab onto something?\u00a0 What would it be like once you stood up and found yourself on the ceiling?<\/p>\n
Then, imagine the change to the landscape!\u00a0 Imagine the change to the WORLD!\u00a0 Instead of sky, there’d be nothing but ground overhead, and a giant, bottomless blue abyss beneath!\u00a0 Would you be able to leave the building you’re in?\u00a0 If you were in your car, what would you do?\u00a0 If you were in your car, and you got into an accident, what would you do?<\/p>\n
Imagine all those people, walking around outside in the city streets, or walking around campus the moment the apocalypse hits, and BAM!\u00a0 They’re all falling skyward!\u00a0 How crazy would that be?\u00a0 How tragic!<\/p>\n
What would you do after you’d realized what happened?\u00a0 Would you be able to get around?\u00a0 If you had access to a car, probably–just lie down on the ceiling and drive upside down, I suppose.\u00a0 But then again, what about the accelerator pedal?\u00a0 How would you reach it?\u00a0 You’d have to rig something up–it would be difficult.<\/p>\n
And what if you were trapped in a building with no way out?\u00a0 What if your car were parked outside somewhere?\u00a0 How would you survive?\u00a0 Where would you get food?\u00a0 What would you do once that ran out?\u00a0 How would you contact people?\u00a0 Would you even make it?<\/p>\n
What if the ceiling weren’t strong enough to support your weight?\u00a0 What if you fell through it?\u00a0 What if you were with someone who fell through a weak part in the ceiling?\u00a0 What would happen?<\/p>\n
You get the idea.\u00a0 It’s a pretty wacky idea, but think about it–if it happened, it really WOULD be apocalyptic!\u00a0 Crazy!<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
