{"id":3904,"date":"2011-01-11T22:31:08","date_gmt":"2011-01-12T05:31:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.onelowerlight.com\/writing\/?p=3904"},"modified":"2011-01-11T22:31:08","modified_gmt":"2011-01-12T05:31:08","slug":"what-the","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.onelowerlight.com\/writing\/what-the\/","title":{"rendered":"What the&#8230;?"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>I sent out two queries this afternoon, about an hour apart from each other.\u00a0 The first was for <em>Genesis Earth,<\/em> the second for <em>Bringing Stella Home.<\/em> Both agents responded within the hour.\u00a0 <em>Genesis Earth<\/em> got a form rejection, and <em>Bringing Stella Home<\/em> got a request for the full manuscript.\u00a0 Yeah, I was shocked too.<\/p>\n<p>So I was planning to query <em>Bringing Stella Home<\/em> all over the place in the next few weeks, but with the full out&#8230;I&#8217;m not exactly sure what to do.\u00a0 I know it&#8217;s okay to send out multiple queries, so long as you only send the full ms to one place at a time, but what about querying when the full is already out?<\/p>\n<p>I&#8217;m assuming that it&#8217;s okay to keep sending out queries, so long as you don&#8217;t send a second copy of the full while the first agent is considering it.\u00a0 If someone else requests to see it, I should probably say &#8220;so and so is currently considering it, but I&#8217;ll let you know once they&#8217;ve gotten back to me.&#8221;\u00a0 Is that right?<\/p>\n<p>Needless to say, this is very encouraging.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>I sent out two queries this afternoon, about an hour apart from each other.\u00a0 The first was for Genesis Earth, the second for Bringing Stella Home.
