Grrr!!! Only 500 words tonight!

I know that that’s my daily goal, and that I reached it, but I wanted to do so much more!  I swear, I have to take this computer somewhere where I can’t get an internet connection and won’t be bothered by anyone else!  And I’ve got to start early in the day, and just keep doing it!  Discipline!

Alright, now that I’ve bored you with my rant, you may go now…unless you want to see the face of awesomeness itself…

Apocalyptic Taco!

After writing lethargically for about an hour and a half, then playing cards with the family and doing other stuff, I settled down to write a little bit…and got distracted by The Gimp.

You see, there is this art contest in the Quark Writing Group, or at least this idea we have for monthly contests, and this is the first one (hopefully people will participate!).  The idea is to choose one of our stories each month and have an illustration contest based on it.  The author himself (or herself) gets to be the judge.

The contest for December is Apocalyptic Taco by Marissa, one of the newer members of the writing group.  It’s a pretty cool story about a college kid wrapped up in the whole college paradigm who has a sort of existential awakening after talking with a transdimensional hobo at a taco shop.  It was a pretty cool story!  And even though I’m not all that good at illustration, I am fairly good at photography and digital image manipulation, so I took a picture of a Beto’s burrito and played with it.  Voila!

Man it was SO MUCH FUN to play with this image!  Maybe I’ll start a second photoblog just for crazy stuff like this!
