The Joy of Family Wards
The Joy of Family Wards
Ah, my last day in a family ward before the new semester. Student wards and singles wards are completely different because THERE AREN'T ANY CHILDREN!!! To be honest, I'm going to miss all the screaming kids when I go back. I wasn't going to take this picture, since it's kind of taboo to take pictures in an LDS chapel (especially during meetings), but this shot was just too good. I was very sneaky. My friends will all think I'm crazy for taking this shot. If you're not Mormon and you're totally confused, let me explain: in the LDS church, congregations are called 'wards' and are usually determined by geography. However, in an effort to help the college students and young single adults find more fellowship (and get married ) they organize special wards just for them. Family wards are the wards with everyone--old people, young people, children, couples, singles, etc. At BYU, practically everyone is in a student ward, not a family ward. So, for the next year or two, this is a sight that I won't be seeing!
