Street Preaching for 9-11 Truth
I took this shot just outside of Penn station right as I was leaving the city. A group of 9-11 Truth activists had gathered at the entrance and were trying rather obnoxiously to get attention for their cause. The 9-11 Truth movement is a sort of confederation of conspiracy theorists who don't believe that the World Trade Centers were destroyed solely by the terrorists. Different people in the movement believe different things, but many of them believe that the towers collapsed due to explosives placed in the foundation by the Neoconservatives currently in power. These people tend to be very anti-Bush and anti-war. They also receive a lot of criticism, as you can see from this passer-by who doesn't seem to be looking to kindly on these guys. What's interesting is that a BYU physics professor is prominently involved in the movement. That's unusual because Utah and BYU are very conservative politically. Personally, I don't believe what these guys are saying, but I haven't heard it out very much. I do have friends at BYU who are 9-11 truth activists. I think they'll get a kick out of this picture.
