Dome of the Rock
Dome of the Rock
This is the Dome of the Rock, one of the holiest sites in Islam. It's built right smack dab on the top of the temple mount, where the old Jewish temple used to be located. The Muslims built this site to rival the Church of the Holy Sepelchre, which the Byzantines built in the third or fourth century. They did a pretty good job!
