One Palestine
One Palestine
Saw this in Jericho, the world's oldest city and currently a Palestinian enclave surrounded on all sides by Israeli military zones that cut it off from the rest of the West Bank. I'm assuming that the street mural here refers to the violence in the past couple of years between Fatah and Hamas. The Palestinians became incredibly divided after the elections, and following the global pullout of aid to the nation, the Palestinian Authority has broken down, especially in Gaza, and things have really turned downhill for the Palestinian people in the occupied territories. It's all very tragic--these people should be united at this time, not divided into bitter rival camps.
