Steaming Sewers
Steaming Sewers
This is from yesterday, as I was walking around in the rain. The city was actually very beautiful in the rain, in a kind of gritty way. I thought it was interesting how the storm drains (technically, they aren't 'sewers') steamed because of all the hot air that's underground. It can also get very hot in the subway terminals. I found out just how hot these storm drains can be the hard way, when I went to take a photo at Times Square and knelt on one. Burn my knee pretty good.
