I went to a dental appointment right around when my family eats dinner, and the dentist said not to eat anything for an hour, so I decided to go down to the Holyoke mall and look at some of the cameras over there. Of course, I had my own, and when I saw this little kid playing one of the video games, I had to take a picture! I only regret that the picture is so blurry. I snapped quite a few shots on the continuous setting, but for most of them the kid was looking away. I think that the shot offers some interesting insights into our American society. We really take gaming very seriously, and devote serious capital and resources into entertainment. We start at a very young age and never really stop. It's not like I'm not guilty of it myself, but it can blow your mind if you think about how obsessed we are with gaming over here, in contrast with other societies in the world, such as the developing countries. And not everything about gaming is very positive--not most of it, even. At times, it can be one of our Western addictions that makes us weaker as a people.
