I'm taking English 318 this year--the creative writing course on SF/F, taught by Brandon Sanderson. Brandon is an up and coming writer who has written a couple of excellent fantasy novels, including Elantris, Mistborn, and The Well of Ascension. He is also the writer who was chosen to finish the famous Wheel of Time series after the passing of Robert Jordan. He's a really awesome guy, very smart, but also very modest and a lot of fun to listen to. He's a very laid back teacher, but he knows what he's talking about, and really his class is excellent at teaching aspiring writers the essentials of writing and publishing SF/F. Here, we're taking a break from class as Brandon shows us the new cover art for the paperback of Mistborn. I must say, it's a lot better than the artwork for the original! (though Vin doesn't look quite the way I imagined her...but oh well) Brandon also shares some other really cool stuff with us from time to time, like his plans for future books and details as to some of his publishing deals. 318 is an amazing class, and I'm really glad to be taking it!
