Little Round Top
Little Round Top
Little Round Top, where Col. Vincent\'s brigade held off a massive Confederate assault on the Union flank. The commander on the extreme left was Col. Chamberlain with the 20th Maine. After six waves of Confederate attackers, his men ran out of ammunition. Instead of falling back, he ordered them to fix bayonets and charge. That insane decision saved the Union forces at Gettysburg and turned the tide of the war.
